MUFSC Receives AABB Accreditation
The Marshall University Forensic Science Center (MUFSC) is proud to announce the receipt of full accreditation by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) for its Parentage Testing Services. Since 2003 The Marshall University Forensic Science Center has been providing high quality paternity testing to the public as well as the legal and law enforcement communities.
AABB accreditation is an extensive process consisting of an intensive on-site assessment by specially trained auditors. During this assessment the Marshall University Forensic Science Center was held to the highest level of medical, technical, and administrative performance. By meeting these requirements put forth by the AABB, the Marshall University Forensic Center becomes one of only a handful of facilities worldwide to earn full accreditation.
The AABB has a long tradition of providing accrediting services, and today assists organizations in determining whether their methods and procedures meet existing requirements. The minimum requirements for accreditation are based primarily on a set of specific standards for the particular area in which accreditation is being sought. These standards are not only reflective of MUFSC’s professional proficiency, but also provide the basis for practice in similar parentage testing facilities around the world.
AABB Accreditation is the designation of choice for parentage testing labs and demonstrates MUFSC’s commitment to advanced learning, continuous improvement, and innovation by striving to sustain the highest possible level of client care. Accredited organizations are recognized by their peers as leaders in their field and as pivotal voices in the dialogue through which consensus-based, voluntary standards are developed and implemented.
The Marshall University Forensic Science Center would like to thank the AABB, the University, our affiliates, and especially our employees for their help in achieving this prestigious award.
