Position: Digital Media Assistant
Location: Forensic Science Center
Position Type: Part-time
Salary: $8.00/hour

Qualifications: Associates Degree in Graphic Arts, Interactive Design or equivalent; or a minimum of 60 hours of higher education credit towards the completion of a college degree in a Graphic Design discipline. Experience with computer-based authoring, editing, and graphic design. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite 2, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator; familiarity with interactive design, specifically with Flash and Dreamweaver software; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Word and PowerPoint; understanding of multimedia file formats including images, interactive media, audio, and video; basic experience in three-dimensional design; ability to use a desktop computer, including understanding of the Microsoft Windows operating system; ability to use general office equipment including scanners, printers, and copiers; general knowledge of computer networking; ability and motivation to learn new software skills and proficiencies (within a reasonable time frame) as required.

Duties: Perform maintenance and formatting of the Center's website and those of its grant-sponsored affiliates; perform thorough web-based research for media projects and reference materials; perform video and audio editing for various projects; assist in the generation of web and print-based marketing materials, with duties including but not limited to design, layout and styling; provide administrative support such as filing, collating, copying, and organizing documents for media projects; ability to work independently or with limited supervision, while exercising good judgment; assist in the organization and maintenance of a library of digital assets for use on various projects and future projects; prepare reports, proposals, and charts from rough draft to final form as required; other duties as required.
