On Wednesday, March 23rd 2016, Governor Earl Ray Tomblin signed Senate Bill 104 into law, officially designating the Forensic DNA Analysis Laboratory of the Marshall University Forensic Science Center as a criminal justice agency.

We have a unique relationship with the West Virginia State Police as the first university to partner with a state crime laboratory on developing and maintaining a CODIS database. Through our FEPAC accredited Forensic Science Graduate Program students have access to state-of-the-art equipment in conjunction with respected faculty. Our ANAB accredited Forensic DNA Laboratory employs a team of adept, proficiency-tested, Master of Science educated, Forensic DNA Analysts.
